FAQs

  • Please go to your nearest emergency department or call 911.

  • You must provide a minimum of one business day (24 hours) notice if you wish to cancel a scheduled appointment or you will be charged a $75 cancellation fee. Please note that insurance companies often do not reimburse for missed appointments.

  • Prescriptions will be written with enough medication to last until your next appointment. It is expected that you will not need telephone prescription refills. Urgent refill requests may take 48 hours to process.

  • As a general rule, we do not prescribe benzodiazepines to clients, except under rare and specific circumstances (in certain stages of panic disorder, or for certain events such as procedures or flying, which are very anxiety provoking). If you are a potential client already prescribed benzodiazepines, then please be aware that our main approach will include a plan to taper you off of the benzodiazepine over a period of time that is both safe and up to our discretion as practitioners.

  • Depending on your treatment plan, various psychiatric medications may be considered, including antidepressants, mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, medications for attention disorders, and medications for anxiety. In addition to medications, recommendations may include vitamins, labwork, and genetic testing (if needed). We will also discuss non-medication options and strategies.

  • Self-adjusting controlled substances will be considered non-compliance. This type of non-compliance will result in discharge from our practice, as it places a huge liability on our ability to safely manage your care.

CONTROLLED MEDICATIONS WILL NOT BE REFILLED EARLY.  It is your responsibility to take them only as prescribed.  Insurances will also not pay for them to be filled early.  Please do not call the office asking for them to be refilled early.

CONTROLLED MEDICATIONS WILL NOT BE REPLACED.  It is your responsibility to make sure that your medication is kept in a secure place to prevent loss or theft.  If you report to our office that your controlled medication(s) has been lost, misplaced or stolen, it will not be replaced.
